🧭 Using Hippo Child Imms Targets with QOF Child Imms Targets

Hippo’s childhood immunisation recalls are age-based and designed to identify children earlier and more comprehensively than QOF indicators.

They work best when used alongside QOF to ensure full coverage of all eligible children.

🧩 QOF Indicators

Code	Indicator Name	What It Checks
VI001	8-month DTaP	% of babies reaching 8 months who’ve had ≥ 3 DTaP doses before 8 months.
VI002	18-month MMR	% of children reaching 18 months who’ve had ≥ 1 MMR dose between 12–18 months.
VI003	5-year DTaP/IPV + MMR	% of children reaching 5 years who’ve had a reinforcing DTaP/IPV and ≥ 2 MMR doses between 1–5 years.

🔍 How Hippo’s Indicators Relate to QOF

🍼 VI001

Hippo’s 8 / 12 / 16 week recalls trigger earlier than VI001 (from 8 weeks old, not 8 months).
These indicators check DTaP, MenB, Rotavirus, and PCV – QOF only checks DTaP.
PRIMARY IMMS checks DTaP + MenB and covers children up to 2 years.
PRIMARY IMMS CATCHUP (ages 2–9) has no QOF overlap.

👶 VI002

1Y IMMS includes MMR (/MMRV), MenB booster, and PCV booster – broader than VI002.
1Y IMMS identifies children up to 2 years.
18M MMR reflects the new MMRV booster guidelines (from Jan 2026).
1Y IMMS CATCHUP has no QOF overlap.

🎒 VI003

RUNOFF 3Y4M MMRandDTaP reflects the new MMRV schedule (3Y4M–5Y, born ≤ 30 June 2023).
MMR BROUGHTFORWARD captures children born 1 July 2023 – 30 June 2024 (from Jan 2026).
3Y4M OLD SCHEDULE CATCHUP has no QOF overlap.
