From 1 January 2026, the NHS childhood vaccination schedule introduced two key changes:
MMRV
A new routine 18-month vaccination appointment
🦛 What changed?
We added support for the following childhood immunisation indicators, in line with the updated NHS schedule from 1 January 2026:
MMRV (
MMRV_IMMS)
Supports recalls for children eligible for MMRV under the updated childhood vaccination schedule.18-month MMR (
18M_MMR)
Identifies children turning 18 months on or after 1 January 2026 who are due their routine second MMR dose under the new schedule.
These indicators are live and available to use in new recall campaigns.
💉 How this fits with existing Hippo childhood immunisation indicators
Hippo already runs childhood immunisation recalls using rolling, age-based cohorts, rather than QOF year-end targets.
These new indicators:
Slot into the existing childhood immunisation framework
Do not replace or disrupt existing infant or toddler indicators
Support both:
Children following the new 18-month schedule
Transitional cohorts still completing vaccinations under the pre-2026 schedule
