Updated over a month ago

This feature provides practices with a proactive worklist of patients who have upcoming appointments and require blood tests. It enables practices to order and prepare blood forms in advance, saving appointment time and reducing the need for follow-up visits.

🔁 How do patients end up on this list?

Patients who Hippo determines require blood tests are added automatically to this list when they have an upcoming appointment. The worklist is generated proactively so your team can opportunistically order and prepare blood forms ahead of time, saving appointment time and reducing the need for follow-up visits.

🔎 Where to find the list

  • Go to the Worklists tab in the top navigation bar.

  • Click the Patient Needs Blood Drawn card. You’ll see all patients who have upcoming appointments scheduled and require blood tests.

👩‍💻 How to use it?

We recommend reviewing this list regularly. Forms can be ordered in advance, allowing patients to have their blood tests processed during their initial appointment eliminating the need for an additional follow-up.

1️⃣ Navigate to Worklists → Patient Needs Blood Drawn.

2️⃣ By default, the view opens on the Needs Blood Drawn tab, showing both patients who require a blood test and those who already have one booked.

3️⃣ You can also filter, sort, or search the list to focus on the patients most relevant to you.

4️⃣ Go through the patient list and, when you’re ready to take action, use the buttons on the right. Click Approve to mark the patient as Blood Test Booked, or Cancel to mark them as Cancelled.

Please note once an action is taken (ordered / cancelled) the patient remains there until the action is completed on their health record.

Below you’ll find the list of blood tests that are surfaced through this feature:

  • Blood test – Lipid profile

  • Blood test – HbA1c

  • Blood test – Serum Creatinine

  • Blood tests – full panel

  • Blood tests – haemoglobin
