🤝 How to Avoid Duplicate Recalls When Working as a Team

Updated over 3 months ago

If more than one person is working through the Recall List at the same time, it’s important to coordinate your approach to avoid accidentally calling the same patient twice.

Here’s how to do that effectively.

✅ If you’re working alone:

Start at the top of the list and work your way down - simple!

The list updates automatically as outcomes are recorded, so you can work confidently without worrying about duplicates.

👥 If multiple team members are working at once:

There is a short delay between someone actioning a patient and the list updating. To avoid stepping on each other’s toes:

  • Start on different pages of the Recall List
For example, one person starts on page 1, another on page 3, etc.

  • Communicate regularly
If you're both working in the same area of the list (e.g. same page), let each other know which patients you've covered.

  • Watch for outcomes already recorded
If you click into a patient and see that someone has just submitted a call outcome, no further action is needed.

🧠 Bonus Tip:

If you’re using the same physical space (like a shared office), split the list by surname (e.g. A–L and M–Z) or NHS number ranges as a quick win.

We're working on ways to make live collaboration even easier, but until then, following these tips will help you avoid duplication and keep things running smoothly.
