If a patient contacts the practice asking why they received a recall message, or what it relates to, you can easily check the campaign that triggered it by following these steps:
1️⃣ Go to the Recall List
Use the search bar to find the patient, or scroll through the list.
2️⃣ Click on See Patient
This opens the patient’s detailed record in Hippo.
3️⃣ Scroll to the Automated Recall Attempts section
Here you’ll see a list of automated messages that have been sent to the patient.
Each one includes:
The date the message was sent
The method used (e.g. SMS, email)
The outcome (e.g. link clicked, message read)
A “View Message” button
4️⃣ Click See Message
This will show you:
The exact message the patient received
The care actions they were recalled for (e.g. asthma review, blood pressure check)
Any booking link or questionnaire link that was included
Whether the message was translated (if applicable)
💡 Tip: If there’s more than one recall attempt, check the most recent one — this is likely the message they’re asking about.
Still unsure what action the patient was recalled for?
Look under Suggested appointments in the patient record — this shows the type of care they’re due for based on current indicator calculations.
