Hippo gives you the option to automatically translate recall messages for patients based on their preferred language recorded in EMIS. This setting is configured per campaign, so you can tailor your approach depending on your needs.
🔧 What is Automatic Message Translation?
When this feature is enabled, patients will receive their recall messages in the language listed in their EMIS record — as long as it’s supported by Hippo. If no language is specified or supported, they’ll receive the message in English.
🛠️ How to Enable or Disable Translation
You can configure this setting during the campaign setup process:
1️⃣ Start creating a new recall campaign as usual.
2️⃣ On the Campaign Basics page, there is a Message Translation section
3️⃣ The toggle is 'On' by default. Turn the toggle off to deactivate translations for this campaign.
4️⃣ Proceed with your campaign as normal. This setting will now apply when messages are sent.
✅ Key Things to Know
The toggle only affects the current campaign you're creating. It won’t apply to others.
This uses the preferred language field from EMIS, so make sure patient records are up to date.
If a patient’s preferred language is unsupported or missing, they’ll receive the message in English by default.
