💉 Hippo Eligible Early Flu Recalls

Set how many days before 1st Sept Hippo can start recalling eligible patients for flu vaccinations, so you can launch flu campaigns early.

Updated this week

The Hippo Eligible Early Flu Recalls setting lets you start inviting eligible patients for flu vaccinations before the standard flu season recall date of 1st September.

This is useful if your practice wants to get a head start on flu campaigns — for example, to align with vaccine delivery schedules, or to prioritise high-risk patients earlier in the year.

⚙️ How it works

  • By default, Hippo will only recall patients for flu vaccinations from 1st September - 31st March.

  • This setting allows you to set a number of days before 1st September to start recalling patients.

  • For example:

    • Setting 30 days means eligible patients could be invited from 2nd August.

    • Setting 0 days means flu recalls will still only start from 1st September.

✏️ How to update this setting

1️⃣ Click on your initials in the top-right corner & select Recall Config

2️⃣ Click Edit (top-right)

3️⃣ In the Hippo Eligible Early Flu Recalls field, enter the number of days before 1st September you want recalls to start.

4️⃣ Click Save

⏳ When Will the Changes Apply?

Once you update the settings, it may take up to 24 hours for Hippo’s indicator calculations to re-run. This means the eligibility list may not update straight away — so don’t worry if you don’t see immediate changes.

💡 Things to note

  • This only affects flu indicators — other recall types are unaffected.

  • Patients must still meet all other eligibility criteria before being recalled.

  • Setting a high number of days may result in invites going out before vaccines are available — plan accordingly.

Example:

If your Early Flu Recalls setting is 20 days, Hippo will begin inviting eligible patients from 12th August.
