🧾 What Does the Booking Page Look Like For Patients?

Preview the online booking journey patients go through when they receive a Hippo message with a booking link.

Updated over a month ago

When a patient clicks on the appointment booking link in a Hippo message, they’re taken to a secure NHS-branded booking system powered by our integration partner, Hero Health.

Here’s what they can expect to see:

🔐 Quick verification

Before anything else, the patient is asked to confirm their date of birth.
This is a simple one-step verification to make sure the booking link is being used by the right person.

⏰ Step 1: Select a time

The patient will then see a list of available appointment times for their recall. They can choose the time that suits them best.

✅ Step 2: Review appointment

Once a time is selected, the patient is shown a summary screen displaying:

  • Date and time

  • Appointment type (e.g. telephone or face-to-face)

  • Location

  • Clinician name (if applicable)

They confirm the booking by clicking the green “Confirm and book appointment” button.

At the top of the screen, there’s a 15-minute countdown letting them know how long the slot will be held for before it’s released again.

📩 Step 3: Confirmation

After the appointment is booked, they’ll see a confirmation screen and receive a message to the contact details held in EMIS.

🏥 What if we have multiple sites?

If your practice has more than one site, patients will first be asked to select their preferred location before choosing a time.

This screen will show all the available sites included in your campaign setup. Patients simply tap on the location they want to attend.

🔐 Security & Privacy

Appointments are booked securely in line with NHS digital standards. No login or sign-up is required. Patients simply click the link and choose a time.
